How much and what kind of fish can I have in pregnancy?
The FDA recommends that pregnant women avoid consuming fish or shellfish high in mercury, and that they limit themselves to TWO, 6 ounce servings per week. Fish high in mercury are swordfish, king mackerel, orange roughy, marlin, grouper, Chilean bass and albacore tuna. Fish that are safe include shrimp, clams, oysters, scallops, fresh salmon, haddock, Pollock, catfish, crab and LIGHT tuna.
