What is a Facility Charge?

Medical practices that are owned by a hospital often charge a “facility fee” when a patient sees a physician. This is something patients should inquire about before their visit so they are not surprised at additional charges for routine visits. Our practice is one of the few independent OB/GYN practices left in Western Pennsylvania. We do not have a facility charge.
