Why do weight loss programs make such a big deal about avoiding “fast food”?

Your body is very efficient at just storing the fat you eat as body fat. Just picture all the grease in “fat food” going directly to your belly, hips and thighs. For weight loss on a 1400 daily calorie diet, the heart healthy recommended total fat consumption per day is only 31 grams. A McDonald’s Big Mac contains 31 grams of fat, a Burger King Whopper has 40 grams, while Taco Bell Salad with salsa racks up 52 fat grams. You might as well take the “s” out of “Fast Food” and call it FAT FOOD!
